Quick Terrier Thanksgiving illustration done this morning in Sketchbook Pro. Hope you are all having a super day. 

The top two were done for someone with three Rat Terriers and the other was for someone who ordered a canvas print of the doggie below-he is a mutt-but what a cutie! I did the holiday card as an extra for her as she has ordered a lot of stuff from me and my shop. :)  These were all done with Sketchbook Pro and Painter.

A couple weeks ago I got Corel Painter X3 (which I love) and I started doing a series of storybook characters. I started with Red in the woods, and then I did Dorothy and here is Alice. I paint the BGs in Painter and illustrate the characters in Sketchbook Pro. I hope you will come back and see them all when finished. Thanks so much for stopping by. 

Two one of a kind Westie illustrations done this week for someone in Texas. I did them the old fashioned way-on Watercolor board and markers. It was really fun.

http://www.cafepress.com/stepholivieridoggies/10776276 I called this "Friends" because the little Westie and Scottie are together. I draw all dog breeds, but Westies and Scotties are my first love. I have Westies and my sister has Scotties. I always say Terriers are really like people in dog bodies. This illustration sums up the two different terrier personalities perfectly. The Westie, always wanting attention looking into the camera and the Scottie, not caring as much, looking off for something else. LOL.. I hope you like and also buy! I can also custom order this as a canvas print or fine art print.

So excited, thrilled, grateful, etc... my first art show and I sold all four of my Westies. I am so happy that people like my work. I love Westies (and Scotties-okay all doggies) and have been lucky enough to get to sell them. 

Okay so I am loving this new series! Ha, like I have time, but I am making time. Next up Alice in the Tulgey woods. Here is Dorothy.

At the SCBWI Art Director day this past weekend one of the speakers mentioned they wanted to see things like, "how would you do Little Red Riding Hood?" and this popped into my head, so for fun I did one! I think I will do more from other favorites of mine as well.

I was asked to do some kitties for some possible-fingers crossed-licensing opportunities. I had a few done, but not too many so I am doing new ones. Here are some rough sketches that I am working on today. I am going to clean them up in Illustrator for the licensing, but then I am going to play around in Corel Painter (which I just got) and do some watercolors. I will post for sure. :)

On Saturday November 9th, I was part of a collection of artists in a show called, The Best Little Show in Burbank, which was hosted by  Eleu Salon in Burbank located at 1725 West Burbank Blvd, Burbank, California. I had 8 pieces in there, 4 Scotties and 4 Westies, lots of my friends and colleagues showed up to make it a great show. There were many artists who also showed. The show is up for about two months, so please stop by and get some original art-great for the holidays!
